HEIRLOOM QUALITY TABLE RUNNER / WALL HANGING
These exquisite weavings can be used as table runners or wall hangings to brighten up your home for the holidays. They feature Christmas trees, candles and poinsettias.
We brought these runners from a group called AMUDIK, Kaqchikel Maya women from the village of Santiago Zamora who pride themselves on the quality of their weavings, which are made on back strap looms. They use a double sided weft technique so that the textile is finished on both sides (as can be seen in the last photo of the green one), a much finer weave, and more complicated process, than single sided, and one that requires more time and materials. Each table runner takes one woman several weeks to complete, and we pay them fair trade prices for their labor.
Approximately 13"x 63" with 3" leno lace trim on each end.
This beautiful table runner will become an heirloom to pass down to your children and grandchildren.
